Fernandez, a member of the Navajo Nation, was born in Shiprock, New Mexico. He learned his pottery skills from his mother, Julie Benally, who is also a skilled potter.

Dennis Charlie

Dennis is the creator of ceramic etched Navajo pottery. He wanted to create something different, more colorful and with finer detail than the traditional Pueblo pottery. It took him over two years to refine his style, and longer to get dealers to buy it. Once it caught on with buyers, he has been able to make a living with his beautiful pottery.
